Buttons are great for so many things and some of the best are when they're being used to not only entertain but to educate our young people! Many of us are spending much more time at home and indoors these days and finding engaging entertainment that doesn't include a video screen can be a challenge. If you're searching for ideas, Team ABM is coming to the rescue!
All you need for an afternoon of f-u-n is a button making kit from ABM, a box of crayons or colored pencils and paper circles. You can even make it super easy and order pre-cut paper circles in a rainbow of colors that are ready to go in the perfect paper weight and size! If you want to get fancy with it and really get them excited, go to the dollar store and get a couple of packs of stickers. They are always a big hit!
You can take your little people outside to teach them about nature right in their own backyard. Who doesn't learn to love about flowers, birds, bugs and maybe even fish? After your nature walk, give them some colors and paper circles and let them draw their favorites. Once they finish their masterpiece you can press it into a button they can wear to show off their artistic talent or how about a magnet for the fridge? Not only are they learning about nature, nurturing a love for the environment and taking pride in themselves, they will have a treasure all their own that preserves their art and will bring back smiles for years to come.
Join us in The Pinback Button Making Community for more great button making ideas! You can share, learn and even make some new friends. We'll see you there but until then, happy button making!
