ABM Button Making Ideas - Shaker Buttons!

ABM Button Making Ideas has a fun one this week!  Have you ever thought about how much fun it would be to add a little extra surprise INto your button?  Well, Lisa Scales sure has!  She is the creator of this week's Friday Feature and a $10 ABM Gift Card!

Lisa is making buttons for the mother of all parties, Mardi Gras, and she has designed buttons that not only look great but make an entertaining party favor and memento!  Using 1.25" flatback buttons, she included just a pinch of micro beads added into the back so when she presses the button together, viola!  You have a cool little shaker button!

One of our fellow members in The Pinback Button Making Community, Allan Blanchard, had another great idea with his suggestion of a rattlesnake version.  I see a lot of laughing little kids chasing their siblings with that one!

Since we're on the subject of adding fun surprises in our buttons, here's a bonus idea.  Why not try using the Metal Craft Punch to make a few small holes in the back of your flatback and add a few yummy smelling scent beads.  Press your button and add a drop of hot glue to attach a ribbon.  You've just created a personalized air freshener!
