Shipping Insurance and Delivery Options
Do you want your order insured and require a signature when delivered?
United Parcel Service (UPS) is a fast, reliable carrier, but packages left unattended at a doorstep can still be lost to theft when no signature is required. If this is a concern, we recommend requiring a signature for delivery.
If you do not purchase signature service, you are authorizing the delivery driver to leave the package outside your home or business, at the driver's discretion. When this happens, we are unable to protect you against the potential loss or theft of your order.
Signature Required
Signature service confirms that a person is present to accept the package, rather than leaving it unattended on a doorstep or loading dock. We strongly recommend it for higher-value orders or addresses where packages sit unattended for long periods.
Package Insurance
UPS includes $100 of free insurance on each shipment. Additional insurance can be purchased at checkout.
Without additional insurance, UPS and ABM's liability for a lost or damaged package is capped at $100 per box.
United States Postal Service
In many instances, the United States Postal Service (USPS) does not include insurance or a tracking number — those services must be purchased separately at checkout. We recommend choosing UPS as your shipping method, since USPS damage and loss claims typically take 30–90 days to resolve.
Tips for Reducing Shipping Costs
- Business vs. residential addresses. Carriers classify addresses as either business or residential, and delivery to a business address can carry a different rate than delivery to a home. If you have the option, check which classification applies to your shipping address before checkout.
- Rural and remote addresses. Shipments to rural or sparsely populated areas often cost more to deliver due to longer delivery routes. If you have the option to ship to a suburban, city, or more densely populated address, doing so can help keep shipping costs lower.
