2.25" Punch for Badge-a-Minit Button Machines
The 2.25" Punch for Badge-a-Minit Button Machines is an all-metal graphic punch that cuts your printed designs to 2.750" round — the exact graphic size required by 2.25" BAM Size Badge-a-Minit machines. The punch cuts the paper's entire circumference in one stroke, so every graphic comes out round, centered, and ready to press.
No special punch paper is required. Cut ordinary printer paper into strips, feed a strip through, and use the large center hole to line up your design before you cut. The punch takes very little physical force to operate and is built entirely of metal, with no plastic parts to break. Punch cutters are self-sharpening and include our lifetime warranty against defects. Note that the BAM 2.25" size is not the same as American Standard 2.25" — see the sizing section below before ordering.

BAM Size vs. American Standard 2.25"
This punch cuts to Badge-a-Minit sizing, not American Standard sizing. The two are both called "2.25 inch," but they are not the same size and their graphics are not interchangeable. A 2.25" BAM Size button takes a 2.750" round graphic. An American Standard 2.25" button takes a 2.625" round graphic. That eighth of an inch is the difference between a graphic that seats correctly under the mylar and one that buckles at the edge or leaves the shell exposed.
Use this punch only if you are pressing on a 2.25" BAM Size Badge-a-Minit machine. If you are pressing on an American Standard 2.25" machine, you need the 2.625" graphic punch instead. Not sure which machine you have? Call us at (972) 985-5074 and we will help you identify it before you order.
Why Badge-a-Minit Owners Add a Punch
Most Badge-a-Minit owners start out cutting graphics with scissors or a craft knife against a paper template. That works for a handful of buttons and falls apart on a production run — edges wander, circles come out slightly oval, and off-center graphics waste shells. A dedicated punch removes that variable entirely:
- Large runs finish faster. One stroke per graphic, with the full circumference cut at once, instead of tracing and trimming each circle by hand.
- Every graphic is identical. A fixed die means button number four hundred looks like button number one.
- Centering is visual, not guesswork. The large center hole lets you see the design and position it before committing to the cut.
- Volunteers and students can run it. Very little physical force is required, so the job does not have to fall to one person.
- No consumable to reorder. Regular printer paper works, and the punch is self-sharpening.
- Fewer wasted shells. Off-center and undersized graphics are the most common cause of a ruined button; a punch eliminates both.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size does this punch cut?
This punch cuts graphics to 2.750" round. That is the finished graphic size a 2.25" BAM Size Badge-a-Minit button requires — the extra material beyond the visible 2.25" face wraps around the shell edge during pressing.
Will this punch work with an American Standard 2.25" button machine?
No. American Standard 2.25" buttons take a 2.625" graphic, not a 2.750" graphic. Despite both being called 2.25 inch, the two systems use different shells and different graphic sizes, and the parts are not interchangeable. This punch is for 2.25" BAM Size Badge-a-Minit machines only. If you are not certain which machine you own, call us at (972) 985-5074 before ordering.
Do I need special paper?
No. Regular printer paper works. Print your designs, cut the sheet into strips that feed through the punch, and punch each graphic. There is no proprietary punch paper to buy or reorder.
Is the punch difficult to operate?
No. The punch cutter requires very little physical force, which makes it practical for classroom, library, and volunteer settings where many different people will be running it. The large center hole gives a clear view of your design so you can center the cut before punching.
How is the punch built, and is it covered by a warranty?
The punch is all-metal construction, so there are no plastic parts to break. Punch cutters are self-sharpening and include our lifetime warranty against defects.
